February 24 Two Militants have been killed in an ongoing encounter that raged between militants and Government forces at Turigam area in  South Kashmir’s Kulgam District. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 34 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receving inputs about Militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in the area. As per initial reports available to The Kashmiriyat two to three militants were trapped in a residential house in the area. February 24 Intense Clashes have erupted between protesters and government forces erupted in Kulgam district of South Kashmir’s district where a gunfight between militants and forces is underway. A Local told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday hundreds of protesters including women assembled and pelted stones on forces who responded to intense tear smoke shelling. February 24 An encounter has started between militants and Government forces at Turigam area in  South Kashmir’s Kulgam District. February 23 Khalid Jahangir today assumed the charge as Deputy Commissioner, of Islamabad (anantnag) in South Kashmir from Mohammad Younis Malik, outgoing  Deputy Commissioner at DC Office, here. Mr. Khalid Deputy Commissioner, after assuming the charge met the prominent media persons of the district and sought cooperation from them and the general public for the overall development of the district. The newly joined Deputy Commissioner also interacted with senior officers of the district administration including Additional Deputy Commissioner, ACR, Joint Director Planning, Deputy District Election Officer, & other senior officers.
