February 23 Three Kashmiri girl students of the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) have been booked for allegedly forwarding controversial comments, along with their own remarks, against the Indian Army on an instant messaging app following the Pulwama terror strike, police said here on Saturday. Four CRPF Men, 5 Civilians Injured in Baramulla Road Accident

February 23 At least four Central Reserve Police Force personnel (CRPF) and five civilians were injured in a road mishap in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday afternoon. Sources said that a CRPF vehicle collided with a four wheeler (Tata Sumo) near Pandit Colony in north Kashmir’s Baramulla this afternoon. In the mishap four CRPF personnel, five civilians received serious injuries and were rushed to District Hospital Baramulla for advance treatment. However the identity of the injured civilians and CRPF men were not known immediately. Meanwhile police has taken cognizance of this road accident.

February 23 The Kunan-Poshpora villages came into the news in February 1991 when some soldiers were reportedly killed in a militant ambush. The village before that had never had a problem with the military. That would change in the intervening night of February 23-24, 1991. February 23 The Article 35A of the Indian constitution empowers Jammu Kashmir legislature to define state's "permanent residents" and their special rights and privileges, It was added to the constitution through a presidential order of 1954. The High Court Bar association of Kashmir has constituted a panel of senior lawyers who would represent the state in the apex court. 45 Year Old Man Injured During Clashes in Islamabad (anantnag)

February 23 A 45 year old man was injured after being hit with a stone in Lal Chowk area of Islamabad (anantnag) in South Kashmir on Saturday morning. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Farooq Ahmad Bhat Son of Abdul Razaq Bhat, a Resident of Lalan Ganoor was hit by a stone on head in clashes which erupted on Saturday morning. Snow Avalanche Hits Bandipora, 6 Trapped

February 23 A snow avalanche occurred in Chrawan area of Aajs in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a snow avalanche ht the Chawran area in Bandipora early morning on Saturday, after which six people went missing. They said, 5-6 persons are feared to be trapped under the avalanche. Meanwhile, joint teams of Police and Army have reached the spot and started the rescue operation.
