Why do New Parties Only Pop up in Kashmir, Not in Jammu or Ladakh? Asks Omar Abdullah

March 17 Calling it a divisive policy to divide the Kashmir vote bank, Omar Abdullah while addressing a party a public rally in South Kashmir said that new parties only pop up in Kashmir, not in Ladakh or Jammu. "The electoral fight in Jammu is always directly between Congress and BJP, however in Kashmir, new parties surface in every election and are presented as a hope to the People of Kashmir valley," Omar Abdullah said. Policeman Accidentally Shoots Himself in Islamabad (anantnag)

March 17 A Policeman was injured when he accidentally opened fire from his own service rifle in Dak Bungalow area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a Policeman identified as Jahangeer Ahmed who is posted as a guard of a National conference leader accidentally opened fire, injuring himself. March 16 One unidentified Militant has been killed when they were intercepted by Indian Army's 34 RR in Kujar area of Yaripora in Kulgam  district of South Kashmir. Woman SPO Shot Dead By Suspected Militants

March 16 A special police officer (SPO) was shot dead by suspected militants at Vehil area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Khushboo Jan, a woman SPO was shot at around 2:40 pm at her residence in Vehil, Shopian. In the incident, the lady SPO was suffered and later shifted to the nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
