Army Man Abducted by Suspected Militants in Budgam

March 08 An army soldier was abducted by unknown gunmen at Qazipora area in Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday late evening. Sources told The Kashmiriyar that an Army soldier identified Mohammad Yaseen of JAKLI unit  was abducted from his home at Qazipora by unknown gunmen. They said that  the rifleman was on leave till March 31. Immediately, a joint team of police and army rushed to the spot to ascertain the details. A massive search operation was launched in Qazipora, Chadoora and borders of neighboring Pulwama district.

We will not Allow Any Militant Group to Operate from Pakistan Now, Says Imran Khan

March 08 The Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said no militant group would be allowed to operate on Pakistani soil and carry out attacks abroad, Reuters reported. “This government will not allow Pakistan’s land to be used for any kind of outside terrorism,” Khan said on Friday while addressing a public rally in southern Pakistan. “We will not allow any militant group to function in our country now.” Pakistan began a crackdown against militant groups this week amid growing international pressure in the wake of the Pulwama attack by Jaish-e-Mohammad.

Another MIG 21 of Indian Air Force Crashes

March 08 An Indian Air Force MiG 21 crashed in Rajasthan today. The pilot of the fighter jet ejected and is reported to be safe. News agency PTI, quoting Bikaner’s superintendent of police, reported that the MiG-21 jet crashed in Bikaner’s Shoba Sar ki Dhani area. The Indian Air Force said in a statement that the MiG-21 had taken from the Indian Air Force’s Nal airbase in Rajasthan and that it was on a routine mission. The MiG-21 crash in Rajasthan comes at a time of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan. Air forces of both the countries have been involved in bombing missions in respective territories. Indian and Pakistani jets even got into a dogfight over Jammu and Kashmir on February 27 leading to the brief capture of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman.

March 08 A cordon and search operation (CASO) has been launched by Government Forces in South Kashmir's Pulwama District Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Friday afternoon, 55 RR of Indian Army, 182 and 183 BN of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched a search operation in Drusu area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Following inputs about Militant movement in the area, the forces blocked all the entry and exit points of the area.   A door to door search operation had been launched when this report was filed.

6 Policemen who tried to Arrest Rape Accused Thrashed in Bihar, Two Critical

March 08 Six policemen who were investigating an alleged rape case were beaten up by some men when they were approaching the accused house in Bihar's Nawada district on Thursday, Police in Bihar said. They said that the accused had kidnapped and raped two girls from a Bihar village. When the Policemen were policemen were approaching the house to arrest the rape accused when a group of men blocked their way, NDTV Reported. "When we went to the house, a group of men attacked us as they tried to escape. Some of us were injured in the attack," one of the policemen said. All the six were admitted to a hospital. The condition of two of the injured are said to be critical. The police said they are looking for the accused and investigation is underway.
