In Pictures- Gunfight in Tral, Thousands Bid Farewell to Slain Militants

March 06 Firdous Qadri The gunfight in Tral that raged on Monday morning between Militants and Government Forces ended with the killing of two Local Militants. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 42 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and 180 BN of CRPF laid siege around a cluster of houses in Reshi Mohalla of Tral after receiving a tip off about Militant movement in the area. The siege soon turned into an encounter when Militants opened fire upon the forces resulting into the death of two Militants. Also, a house in which Militants were holed up was completely damaged in the gunfire. On Wednesday , the Tral area is observing a complete shutdown for the second consecutive day to mourn the killings of Militants.       ...

March 05 Rejecting Violence, the IAS Officer turned politician in an interview with Barkha Dutt has said that the Kashmir issue can be resolved only by the Indian parliament. "The Political rights of people of Jammu Kashmir can be only restored by India and its parliament," Faesal told Barkha Dutt in response to a question. Supporting Rajnath's Call, he said that India and Pakistan should come together to deal with the problem of 'terrorism.' March 05 Intense clashes erupted as hundreds of youth hit the streets of Reshi Mohalla and adjoining areas of Tral belt in South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth hit the streets as soon as the firing near the encounter site stopped.
