17 Year Old Boy Alleges Torture By Army, “They Bloodied my Whole Body with Knives”

March 03 A 17- year old boy, Ikhlas Ahmed Bhat, resident of Adar area of Khanabal area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (anantnag) has alleged torture by Indian Army on the wee hours of Sunday morning. Ikhlas speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that early morning he left home for Fajr prayers, when Army men face palmed (Covered my mouth with Hands) him and assaulted him for nearly an hour and also cut his body parts with sharp knives. CASO Called off in Shopian Area, Nothing Found

March 03 A cordon and search operation (CASO) that was launched by Government Forces in Malikgund area of South Kashmir's Shopian District has been called off. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday afternoon, 44 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched a search operation in Zainbathoo area of Malikgund in South Kashmir's Shopian District. Following inputs about Militant movement in the area, the forces blocked all the entry and exit points of the area. A door to door search operation was conducted by the forces jointly During the search operation, nothing was found in the area after which forces called off the operation.

Indian Media Claims Azhar Masood is Dead

March 03 A day after Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar is "unwell", a report by News 18 on Sunday, 3 March claimed that Azhar is dead. Azhar-led JeM last month claimed the attack in Pulwama district that claimed the lives of 40 CRPF jawans. According to the report, top sources in Pakistan told News 18 that Azhar died on Saturday. The cause of death is unknown.

March 03 One of the longest encounters in the recent past has been officially declared over in the Babagund area of Langate in North Kashmir's Kupwara. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 22RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police, and CRPF laid a siege in the area following specific inputs about Militant movement in the area. In the ensuing gunfight, five Government Force personnel and two Militants were killed. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the bodies of Militants have been recovered from the site of the encounter. Intense clashes have also erupted near the site of the encounter.

ICC Rejects BCCI Proposal to Ban Pakistan from Entering Cricket World Cup

March 03 The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday rejected the proposal of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to ban Pakistan from entering the cricketing world cup, 2019. Post the Pulwama Attack, BCCI had asked the ICC to bar the Pakistan cricket team from entering the World Cup. March 03 Amid Anti-Kashmir protests that gripped many Indian states, another shocking incident has surfaced in Poonch area of Jammu district when a student was disallowed inside a library. A college student of Degree college Poonch speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that on 28 February, a College student was disallowed to enter the library after being told he was a Kashmiri.
