Pakistan Did not Release the Captured Indian Pilot Under Any Pressure

March 02 Rejecting the claims of various Indian Politicians and Media, the Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Saturday said that captured Indian pilot Abhinandan Varthaman was not released under any pressure. Talking to BBC Urdu, the minister further said that Pakistan intends to move against extremist elements and it would not allow non-state actors to put the regional peace at stake. Kupwara Encounter Update- Day 2, No Dead Body Recovered Yet

March 02 No dead body has been recovered from the site of the encounter which started between Government forces and militants on Friday midnight. The Encounter is still underway and there is no confirmation regarding the killing of any militant while as four forces personnel have been killed so far. Several Properties Linked to Jamaat e Islami Sealed

March 02 Authorities in Kashmir have sealed several properties belonging to Jamaat e Islami (JeI), including residences of some of its activists, police said Saturday, days after the Centre banned the outfit on grounds that it was “in close touch” with militant groups and was likely to “escalate secessionist movement”. Several properties, including residential houses, belonging to various JeI leaders and activists were sealed in many areas of the city and elsewhere in the Valley Friday night, a police official said. Winter Vacation in Kashmir Schools and Colleges Extended Again

March 02 The divisional administration has extended the winter vacation of schools and colleges in Kashmir till March 10. An official said the decision to extend the winter vacation has been taken in view of the prevailing inclement weather in Kashmir. “The class work in all schools upto higher secondary and degree colleges of Kashmir will now resume from March 11 (Monday),” the official said. Earlier, the class work in schools and colleges was supposed to resume on March 05 post winter vacations.

LoC Firing- Two Kashmir Minors, Their Mother killed

March 02 Two siblings and their mother were killed while as four others including an army major and a soldier were injured as India and Pakistan troops continued shelling at Salootri in Krishna Ghati area of Poonch district of Jammu Kashmir. March 01 Two more troopers injured in the Kupwara encounter have succumbed to their injuries on Friday evening. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that two more cops have succumbed to their injuries taking their death toll to four. Earlier two troopers, One from CRPF and one Jammu Kashmir Policeman were killed in the encounter.
