March 01 A civilian has been killed when Government Forces opened fire upon protesters near the encounter site in Kupwara district of North Kashmir. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Waseem son of Mohammed Akbar Mir, a resident of Sagipora in Sopore was killed when Forces opened fire upon protesters. March 01 Islamic Model School run by Jamaat e Islami in Ajas area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district. The move comes following government of India’s decesion to ban the prominent socio-religious organisation, days after arresting scores of its leaders and activists in a massive crackdown. March 01 Calling the recent ordinance passed by Government of India as a violation of Article 370, the National Conference has said that it is consulting legal experts on the issue. Omar Abdullah, the vice president of the party has warned India to not tinker with the special status of Jammu Kashmir. "The situation in Kashmir will turn into flames, if special status of Jammu Kashmir is touched," he tweeted. March 01 Intense Clashes have erupted between protesters and government forces erupted in Handwara in North Kashmir’s district where two Militants have been killed in a gunfight between militants and forces. A Local told The Kashmiriyat that on Friday hundreds of protesters including women assembled and pelted stones on forces who responded to intense tear smoke shelling. In the action of Forces, five youth have been injured, three of whom have been shifted to the hospitals for treatment.
