Nocturnal CASO Launched Srinagar

April 30 Government forces on Tuesday evening launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Mujgund area Central Kashmir,s Srinagar District. Reports reaching to The Kashmiriyat said that a joint team of Army 5 RR, and Special Operation Group (SOG) Parimpora laid a siege at Mujigund area Of Srinagar. A police Source Confirmed the incident and said that the cordon was launched following inputs about the Movement of some suspected militants. The searches operation was underway in the village when this report was last filed.

Youth Surrenders in Pulwama- Claims Police

April 30 The Jammu Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed that a youth has left the path of Militancy and come back to mainstream. In a tweet, the Jammu Kashmir Police said that "One more youth from Pulwama with the efforts of community members & Police has shunned the path of violence & returned to mainstream.." However the police has not disclosed the  Identity of the youth.

US warns of More Attacks in Sri Lanka

April 30 The US has warned that the terrorist threat in Sri Lanka still remains as active members of the group that carried out the massive suicide attacks on Easter Sunday may still be at large, a media report said Tuesday. The US Embassy here has said that at the request of the Sri Lankan Government, US security experts were working closely with their Sri Lankan partners on “fulfilling short term, specific objectives” related to the recent attacks and to bringing the perpetrators to justice. April 30 Government forces on Tuesday afternoon launched a Cordon and Search Operation at Kreeri area of North Kashmir's Baramulla district. Reports said that a joint team of 29 RR, 176 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Special Operational Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police personnel cordoned off the Kreeri area. Searches were going on when the last reports came in.

Designated Polling Station Torched in Shopian

April 30 Unidentified persons late on Monday evening torched a designated polling booth at Keegam in south Kashmir’s Shopian district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a polling booth set up at Government Higher Secondary School was set ablaze by unknown persons after which the locals informed the fire and emergency department who doused the flames. A portion of computer lab of the school was gutted in the fire. Pertinently during nocturnal raids in the area, immediately after the incident, 21 youth were arrested from the area.
