April 23 Tawseef Nazir Amid a boycott, the polling stations across the Islamabad (anantnag) district are wearing a deserted look on Tuesday as the area goes to polls in the third phase of Lok Sabha Polls 2019. People in Shangus, Kokernag Come out in Large Numbers to Vote

April 23 Waris Shah A moderate turnout is being witnessed in Kokernag and Shangus belts as People in are coming out to cast their votes in the third phase of Lok Sabha polls in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. A total of 13, 524 voters have cast their votes out of 1,80,000 total voters. in Shangus 4519 people have cast their votes out of a total 88000 electorates, In Kokernag out of 92000, a total of 9005 people have cast their votes so far. In Dooru, 3700 people have cat their votes out of a total of 78,684 voters.

April 23 Tawseef Nazir Amid a low voter turnout the people of Islamabad (anantnag) district in South Kashmir on Tuesday in the third phase of Lok Sabha Polls, voters have choose to remain away from polling stations in Ashajipora belt of the District. Out of 3485 votes, only 12 votes have been polled by 1045 Am. In Ashajipora A- 3 votes have been polled out of 770, Zero votes have been polled in Ashajipora B- out of 701, In Moominabad 7 votes have bee cast out of 1259 and in Daburna 2 people have voted out of 755. Clashes have also intensified at several places in Islamabad (anantnag) district amid tight security arrangements. In Shirpora, 23 votes have been polled out of 1580 total votes.

A Would-be Groom Crushed to Death by Train in Pulwama

April 22 A youth was killed in a train accident here in Panzgam area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Reports said that a Sikh youth was walking along railway track in Panzgam when a moving train crushed him to death. Police sources identified him as MP Singh, a resident of Iqbal Abad, Chandrigam Tral. The incident shocked the locals at his native village who in large numbers mostly Muslims assembled at the house of the deceased and mourned his death. The deceased was known as a talented cricketer in the area who was scheduled to tie his knot on 28 April this month. The deceased was the lone son of his parents.

Pakistani Militant “Chotta Dujana” Arrested From Baramulla

April 22 Sajad Hameed The Jammu Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a militant from Mirgund Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Sources said a militant was arrested by joint team of forces from Mirgund Pattan area. The militant has been identified as Aqib alias Chota Dujana a resident of Pakistan, as per sources the militant was affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba. Aqib was travelling in a Xylo vehicle when he was arrested.
