90 Percent Polling Stations in South Kashmir Hypersensitive, Rest Sensitive

April 19 A multi-layer security plan has been formulated to ensure smooth conduct of the upcoming general elections in Anantng Lok Sabha seat, especially in “hypersensitive” areas, officials said. Sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that in view of challenging law and order situation in South Kashmir, Election commission, Police and other security agencies have formulated a multi-layer security plan to ensure smooth conduct of elections. “The plan includes area domination, night patrolling and strong cover by the road opening parties of the central reserve police force (CRPF),” a senior police officer wished not to be named told KNS. April 19 Kashmir is an integral part of India and it would continue to remain so as long as the BJP exists, party president Amit Shah said here Wednesday. Shah’s remarks came at a poll rally, in response to National Conference leader Omar Abdullah’s recent suggestion of having a separate prime minister for Kashmir. “No one can take away Kashmir from us. Militants Attack Police Station in Kulgam Area

April 19 Suspected militants on Friday afternoon hurled a grenade on Police station at Damhal Hanjipora area in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Government Employee Thrashed by Forces in South Kashmir

April 19 The Government Forces on Friday morning allegedly thrashed a Government Employee in Busoo area of Awantipora in South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that CRPF men deployed near Bursoo rounded up a civilian and thrashed him to pulp, injuring him. The civilian identified as Fayaz Ahmad Khan, a Resident Of Puhroo Pulwama was injured after being assaulted and he was immediately shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment. A Police official upon being contacted said that Police has received no such complaints.

Nusrat Jahan Rafi, 18, who was from Feni, 100 miles south of the capital Dhaka, was tricked into going onto a rooftop at her madrassa, or school, on April 6, where at least four people doused her in kerosene and set her alight, reported Human Rights Watch.
