April 06 An Uttar Pradesh resident named Shams Khawaja is one of the seventeen candidates in fray for the Anantnag Lok Sabha Constituency that will be going to polls in three phases, District Islamabad (anantnag) on April 23, under the third phase, Kulgam will vote during the 4th phase, on April 29. Two Militants Reportedly Killed in Brief Encounter in Shopian

April 06 Two unidentified Militant has been killed when they were intercepted by Indian Army's 44 RR in Pinnjura area of Shopian District of South Kashmir. Sources informed The Kashmiriyat that the Militants opened fire on a party of Indian Army when they were intercepted by them near the Pinjura's Parguchi to which the Army responded. In the retaliatory fire, two Militants, unidentified, were killed, however no dead body has been recovered from the site as of yet, they said. April 06 Following specific inputs about Militant movement, The Government Forces on Saturday noon launched Cordon and Search operation (CASO) in Moolu area of Chitragam in South Kashmir's Shopian District. Security of 919 Persons Withdrawn in Jammu Kashmir

April 06 Security cover of 919 “undeserving persons” in Jammu Kashmir has been withdrawn, thereby freeing 2,768 police personnel and 389 vehicles, the Home Ministry said Friday. The list of persons whose security cover has been withdrawn by the Jammu Kashmir administration include 22 separatist leaders, in a clear message to those involved in “anti-national activities”. The move came following the strict stand taken by the central government on inappropriate usage of scarce police resources in Jammu Kashmir.
