Unknown Gunmen Attack Bus on Election Duty in Shopian

April 05 Unknown gunmen attacked a bus deputed for election duty at Turkwangam area of South Kashmir's Shopian late on Thursday night. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Bullets were fired indiscriminately the bus bearing the registration number JK02K-7311 in Turkwangam area of Shopian. However, no loss of life was reported from the incident, the bus suffered damage in the firing.

Two Inmates Injured, Building Burnt as Protests Break out in Kashmir’a Central Jail

April 05 Two inmates were injured as protests broke out inside a high security central jail in Srinagar on Thursday evening amid rumours that some inmates were being shifted out of the Kashmir valley. The officials said that the jail inmates were also protesting against construction of new barracks. During protests, the inmates also burned a temporary shelter. April 04 The Government Forces on Thursday launched Cordon and Search operation (CASO) in Hajam Mohallah of Panzgam area in South Kashmir's Pulwama District. April 04 Four Border Security Force (BSF) jawans lost their lives on Thursday in an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district. Two security personnel also sustained injuries in the exchange of fire between the jawans and the Naxals. The skirmish took place in a dense forest near Mahla village in Kanker district when a team of BSF’s 114th battalion was out on a search operation, police said. “Four BSF troopers were killed and two injured in the incident,” Deputy Inspector General (anti-Naxal operations) Sundarraj P told PTI.
