April 04 Skinder Gull Four youths have been detained during nocturnal raids in Chodergund and Vehil areas in South Kashmir’s Shopian district in connection with the Banihal blast case. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that Anayat Ullah Malik, Tanveer Ahmad Wagay, Sajad Ahmad Khan, all residents of Vehil and Muzafar Ahmad Mirof Choudrigund village were detained during night raids. On March 30, a mysterious car blast took place in Banihal area and left a private car completely damaged, also a CRPF vehicle was damaged in the incident. Kashmir Crackdown- No Civilian Traffic to be Allowed on Highway on Wednesday and Sunday

April 04 There will be a no civilian traffic movement on most part of the 300-km long National Highway on Sunday and Wednesday from 4 am to 5 pm every week till May 31, 2019, in view of the possibility of terror attack on security forces' convoys during the Lok Sabha elections. The prohibition on movement of civilian traffic on these two days of each week would be from Baramulla through Srinagar, Qazigund, Jawahar-Tunnel, Banihal and Ramban till Udhampur, an official government statement said. April 04 A former PDP activist and a Panch who was critically wounded after being after shot at by unknown gunmen at Shalipora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday evening succumbed to injuries at a local hospital here. The Panch who had been identified as Abdul Majeed Dar succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning, Sources told The Kashmiriyat. On Wednesday evening, masked gunmen barged inside the house of Abdul Majeed Dar and fired upon him at Shalipora village in Kulgam, he was injured critically in the incident. Lashkar e Taiba Militant Arrested in Kashmir Capital

April 03 A suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant, who was allegedly involved in a weapon-snatching case, was arrested here on Friday, police said. Acting on a tip-off, a special team of the Srinagar police apprehended a person near Bone and Joint Hospital at Barzulla, a police spokesperson said. The accused has been identified as Danish Hanief alias Abu Dujana, a resident of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
