April 03 The former chief Minister of Jammu Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday filed her nomination papers for the Anantnag Lok Sabha seat comprising of four South Kashmir districts, Pulwama, Islamabad (Anantnag), Shopian and Kulgam. Lashkar e Taiba Militant Arrested in Kashmir Capital

April 03 A suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant, who was allegedly involved in a weapon-snatching case, was arrested here on Friday, police said. Acting on a tip-off, a special team of the Srinagar police apprehended a person near Bone and Joint Hospital at Barzulla, a police spokesperson said. The accused has been identified as Danish Hanief alias Abu Dujana, a resident of central Kashmir’s Budgam district. April 03 Three youth have been detained during nocturnal raids in Vehil area in South Kashmir's Shopian district in connection with the Banihal blast case. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that three persons identified as Asif Malik, Faheem Shah and Umar Shafi, all residents of Vehil area of Shopian have been picked for questioning regarding the Banihal blast case. On March 30, a mysterious car blast took place in Banihal area and left a private car completely damaged, also a CRPF vehicle was damaged in the incident. April 02 Panic gripped Moolu Chitragam area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday evening as massive firing was heard in the area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a group of at least five armed Militants appeared in Moolu Chitragam on the grave of slain Lashkar commander, Zaffar Ahmed Pall and offered gun salute to the slain commander.
