April 27 In yet another case of hate crime, a driver has been accused of intentionally hitting a group of pedestrians in Northern California and trying to attack people he believed were of the Muslim faith, police said. Isaiah Joel, the accused driver, also targeted the crowd based on race, Sunnyvale, California, Police Chief Phan Ngo told reporters Friday. Isaiah, 34, has been charged with eight counts of attempted murder for allegedly driving his vehicle into pedestrians in Sunnyvale earlier this week. If convicted, Peoples faces up to life in prison. Two Including Minor Dead in Gurez Road Accident, 9 Injured

April 27 Rayees Shah A woman and a minor girl died while nine others suffered injuries during a road accident in Gurez area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a woman Nani Begum aged 50 and minor girl Tabasum Jan aged 10, died when a Sumo vehicle bearing the registration number JK01F-6330 on its way to Gurez fell down into a deep gorge. In this mishap, nine others suffered major injuries and were evacuated to nearby hospital for treatment. The condition of one of the injured person is stated to be critical. A police officer confirming the accident said, “A case has been registered under relevant sections of law and further investigations have been taken up.”
