BSF Vehicle Hit by Army Vehicle in Pattan

April 24 Shabir Khan A vehicle of Border Security Force (BSF) was damaged partially in a road accident in Pattan area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a BSF vehicle was hit by an army vehicle on Wednesday morning. April 24 The weekly two-day closure of the 270-km Kashmir highway for troop movement, which came into force last month, has thrown life out of gear in both Kashmir as well as Jammu regions as a complete chaos is being witnessed today on the 270 kilometer stretch. Kashmir PhD Scholar Arrested in Punjab Over Alleged Militant Links

April 23 A Kashmiri PhD scholar was arrested in a joint operation of the Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab Police from the Central University in Bathinda today for alleged militancy links, IANS quoted police as having said. The report said that the accused, Hilal Ahmed, 28, is being taken to Jammu Kashmir for further investigation. “The arrest was made following a raid conducted in the varsity campus,” IANS quoted Bathinda Senior Superintendent of Police Nanak Singh as having said.
