Video of Kashmir Militant Commander, Naveed Babu Training Militants Goes Viral

May 01 A new video has surfaced on social media in which a group of Militants can be seen taking training from a militant commander from South Kashmir's Shopian District In this short video which has appeared on Social media, Naveed Babu is seen given training to a group of five Militants, the location of the video is still unknown. Syed Naveed Mushtaq, a Kashmiri policeman turned militant, who joined in early 2017 is a resident of Nazneenpora of Shopian, south Kashmir. He had joined J-K police in 2012 and was serving as a police constable before joining militants. He decamped with four weapons. Taliban and ISIS Clash in Eastern Afghanistan- Hundreds of Families Displaced

May 01 Afghan Taliban insurgents are clashing Islamic State over control of territory in eastern Afghanistan in some of the heaviest clashes over the past year between the rival militants, officials said on Wednesday. The fighting erupted on Monday in two districts of the eastern Afghan border province of Nangarhar, when Islamic State fighters attacked villages under Taliban control. About 500 families had fled from the fighting, he said. Casualty figures were not available. In August, more than 150 Islamic State fighters surrendered to the Afghan security forces after they were defeated by the Taliban in the northwestern province of Jawzjan. The U.S. military estimates there are about 2,000 Islamic State fighters in Afghanistan.

2 Minor Boys injured as Shell goes off Kulgam Area

May 01 Two boys have been injured after a shell exploded in Damhal Hanjipora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that two young boys identified as Shahid and Ikhlaq were injured when they were playing with an un-exploded shell in the area. The duo was shifted to nearby PHC for treatment from where they were shifted to Kulgam’s district hospital for advanced treatment. Officials at Damhal’s Primary Health Care upon being contacted by The Kashmiriyat said that Shahid has sustained injuries on his hand while as Ikhlaq suffered wounds in his face. A police official confirmed the incident said that police has started investigations into the matter.

Tral Youth Joins Jaish e Muhammad

May 01 One more youth from South Kashmir has picked arms and posed with an AK 47 rifle to tell his family that he has joined Militant ranks. The youth has been identified as Ubaid Nabi son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat a resident of Tral area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Locals from Shopian told The Kashmiriyat that Ubaid had left home a few weeks back after which he disappeared, today his photo carrying a gun appeared on the Social media. Crackdown Intensified As Election Nears in Pulwama, Shopian- 20 More Arrested

May 01 Jahangeer Ganaie As the last leg of Parliamentary seat Anantnag polls reach closer, the Government forces have intensified their crackdown against the youth in the twin district of Pulwama and Shopian in South Kashmir. Government forces detained almost 20 more youth during nocturnal raids in South kashmir's Pulwama and shopian districts. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that at least one dozen youth were arrested from Gudoora village of Pulwama district in dead of the night. Pertinently a day before, around 30 youth were arrested from Murran, kangan and other parts of twin district. A police official while confirming the arrests said the arrestees were being quizzed for their alleged role in various stone pelting incidents in the area.
