1 Militant Killed During ongoing Encounter in Kulgam

May 22 One unidentified militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter with government forces at Gopalpora of kulgam district. Officials confirming the encounter said that a joint team of Government forces including 34 RR and SOG launched search Operation in the area following credible inputs about the presence of militants in the area. As forces intensified search operation towards a suspected spot, militants opened fire triggered encounter. In this exchange of gunfire, one militant has been killed, the official said, adding that, the cordon is still in place as more Militants are believed to be holed up in the area. Meanwhile the exchange of fire has stopped as per locals. Mobile internet services have been Snapped in South Kashmir's Shopian Kulgam Districts.

May 19 Gunshots jangled in the Panzgam area of Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district around 1:40 am on Saturday, the news soon spread, Showkat Ahmed Dar, a local Militant from the area had been killed, the firing stopped for many hours, however soon, gunshots reverberated in the area again, two more Militants were killed. May 06 A Kashmiri student who went missing from a private university in Noida five months ago, is languishing in a jail in Pakistan. According to the family members the student who has been identified as 23-year-old Syed Wahid who went missing on December 12, 2018 is in Pakistan. Father of Syed Wahid recently called the Investigation officer of Noida Expressway police station and informed him about a call from Pakistan. The call was allegedly made from an inmate who was released from the jail. May 06 The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a plea challenging the Jammu Kashmir government’s order restricting civilian traffic for two days in a week on a stretch of the national highway from Udhampur to Baramulla for the movement of security forces. According to PTI the Counsel for the Jammu Kashmir government told the bench comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Deepak Gupta that the order restricting traffic on the national highway was taken due to the ongoing election and will remain in force till May 31.
