Suspected Militants Abduct Policeman in Kashmir’s Shopian

Late on Sunday evening, unknown gunmen abducted a Policeman from a Shopian after they stormed into his house in Thairan area. Sources in the Jammu Kashmir Police told The Kashmiriyat that militants appeared in Thairan village of Shopian district and abducted a police cop identified as Shakeel Ahmed. Sources said that post the incident the Government Forces cordoned off the adjacent villages to nab the suspected militants. More details awaited.

CRPF Sub Inspector Posted in Pahalgam Dies of Cardiac Arrest

A Sub Inspector of Central Reserve Police Force died of a cardiac arrest in Sallar area of Pahalgam in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district on Sunday afternoon. A CRPF Official upon being contacted by The Kashmiriyat confirmed that 55 year old Sub Inspector identified as Ram Bharat Singh, posted with 134 Batlion of CRPF in Salar area met a heart attack during his duty, after which he was rushed to the hospital. He, however, breathed his last, on the way to the hospital, the official said, His body has been taken to District Hospital of Islamabad (Anantnag) for autopsy.

Mir Junaid Burglars on Saturday looted the Kalvi Dhar Gurudwara in Jawahar Nagar area of Srinagar and decamped with the cash and other valuable items from the donation box of the holy gurduwara.
