Second Rape Case Reported in Less than a Week- 3 Year old Girl Raped in Pampore

A shocking case of rape has surfaced from the Wuyen area of Pampore in the Pulwama district of Kashmir on Thursday. A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that the family of a three year old girl (name withheld) have filed a case against a boy for raping their daughter. "The Police upon getting the complaint immediately swung into action," the Police official said. The accused, a 13 year old boy, identified as Faisal, who was the neighbour of the girl,has been detained, he said. Because of the complaint, Police lodged an FIR against the accused under the sections 376, 3/4 of PASCO Act in Police Station Wuyen in Pampore. In a heartwarming gesture, Muslims in a village in north Kashmir district of Bandipora performed the last rites of a Kashmiri Pandit woman amid lockdown to curtail spread of COVID-19. According to details, as soon as the news of the death of 75-year-old Rani Bhatt spread at Kalosa in Bandipora, members of Muslim community came together to help in performing his last rites.
