Clashes erupted as scores of youth hit the streets of Pudshoo in Lukadpora area of South Kashmir that falls between the Pulwama and Kulgam District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth from Hariwath, Sehpora, Nehama and several adjoining areas hit the streets on Saturday evening as soon as the firing at encounter site stopped. After nearly three decades, the Jammu Kahsmir administration is planning to open liquor shops at various locations across the Kashmir valley. The Excise Department as per an official notice doing rounds on Social media has identified 183 new locations, 116 in Jammu and 67 in the Kashmir valley for sale of liquor. The Excise Department has conducted a survey in exercise of the powers under rule 28 of J&K Liquor and License Rules 1984 and Section 4 (B) of the Excise Act and identified these locations for opening of new sale points, the notice reads. Encounter Breaks out in Shopian- 2 to 3 Militants Trapped

An Encounter broke out between government forces and militants at Pudshoo of Lukadpora area of Shopian  district on Saturday afternoon. A Security official told The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in the area by joint team of forces including 34 RR, CRPF and Shopian Police on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area. An official said that, after trapping the militants, they were asked to surrender, however, opened fire, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter. Sources said that two to three militants are believed to be trapped. Pertinently this is the sixth encounter in Shopian district, 22 Militants have been killed during these encounters.
