International Flights in India to Remain Suspended till July 15

The International Flights which were suspended in the wake of a global pandemic in India, will remain suspended till the July 15, The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)said in a circular. The restriction, however, will not be applied on all-cargo flights and other flights specially approved services by the DGCA. “The competent authority has decided that scheduled international commercial passenger service to/from India shall remain suspended till 2359 hrs IST of 15th July 2020,” the circular read. The Supreme Court on Friday issued a notice to the Jammu Kashmir administration on a petition filed by Kashmir Bar Association President Mian Abdul Qayyum challenging his detention under the Public Safety Act from August 7 last year. The Democratic Republic of Congo has won the battle against Ebola, making the world’s second-deadliest Ebola outbreak over, the country’s health minister, Eteni Longondo, announced on Thursday. The World Health Organization regional director for Africa, Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, stated that the announcement was made after no new cases of Ebola were reported 42 days since the last patient tested negative. The country battled their 10th Ebola outbreak for almost two years with the help of around 16,000 front line workers. More than 2,200 lives were claimed by the outbreak, despite successful deploying of two separate vaccines. The response was continually hindered due to mistrust amongst community and violence in the country’s north-eastern provinces.
