The Kashmiriyat editor, Qazi Shibli has now been detained by the Cyber Crime Cell in Srinagar. The Kashmiriyat spoke to Qazi Shibli’s family and we were told that after waiting for more than 8 hours outside the Cyber Cell, police officials said that the family could go back home as Shibli had been detained. His family members said that they were finally content and fortunate that after years, everyone in their family would be spending the auspicious festivities of Eid-al-Adha together. But, the news of his detention has left everyone desponded and miserable. COVID 19 – 64 travelers among 490 new Covid-19 cases in J&K, tally crosses 20000 mark – Full Report

Jammu Kashmir on Friday reported 490 novel coronavirus cases including 64 travellers, taking the overall number to 20359 in J&K. Among them, 143 were reported from Jammu and 297 from Kashmir. Giving district-wise details, official sources told the media that Srinagar reported 128 cases, Baramulla 24, Kulgam 11, Shopian 8, Anantnag 21, Kupwara 9, Pulwama 85, Budgam 29, Bandipora 22, Ganderbal 10, Jammu 43, Kathua 11, Rajouri 24, Udhampur 24, Ramban 1, Samba 18, Poonch 1, Kishtwar 1, Doda 0 and Reasi 20. In Kashmir, Srinagar tops the list with 4786 cases followed by Baramulla with 1901, Kulgam 1504, Shopian 1430, Anantnag 1299, Pulwama 1480, Kupwara 1094, Budgam 1277, Bandipora 733, and Ganderbal 411. SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal today urged People of Ganderbal to avoid Eid al-Adha congregational prayer in Eidgahs and mosques and appealed them to pray at home in view of rising COVID-19 positive cases in Ganderbal. "Eid al-Adha is a special festival for us and I wish everyone a happy and prosperous Eid. While celebrating the fest we have to take some necessary precautions amid the pandemic Mass gathering like Eid congregational prayers are not allowed in Eidgahs and mosques. KAS Officer, Tassaduq Jeelani Dies Battling Covid

Tassaduq Jeelani of the Special Secretary Social Welfare Department was admitted to JVC, Bemina - Srinagar. He was admitted to the hospital on the 14th of July and later shifted to the ICU as he was diabetic and that caused critical health conditions. Principal JVC, Dr. Riyaz confirmed that Tassaduq Jeelani died battling COVID-19 and the cause of death was Cardio Pulmonary Arrest. Shahid  Choudhary, the District Magistrate and Development Commissioner also tweeted on the demise of his colleague, Tassaduq Jeelani.

Budgam Police Arrests Drug Peddler, 101 KGS Poppy Straw Seized

Budgam police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 101 KGS of Poppy Straw. In the Sholipora area of Budgam, SHO, PS Budgam along with police party during night patrolling, stopped a vehicle registered with the No.buy lipitor online medstaff.englewoodhealth.org/wp-content/languages/new/lipitor.html no prescription JK04C-8410. During the search of the vehicle, 12 bags of poppy straw weighing 101 KGS were found and one person identified as Mohd Yaseen Dar S/o Abdul Ahad Dar R/o Sholipora, Budgam was arrested. A preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the caught drug peddler was supplying drugs to the youth in the surrounding area. A case FIR No. 302/2020 has been registered in PS Budgam.

Mehbooba Mufti’s Detention Extended by 3 More Months.

By a government order released today, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti's detention has been extended  by three more months. The order states that the extension is "with a view of preventing her from acting in any manner prejudicial to the maintenance of Public Order". She has also been relocated from Subsidiary Road on M.A Road to Subsidiary Jail on Gupkar Road. She, along with many other political leaders of Kashmir had been arrested and booked under the Public Security Act (PSA) on 5th August, 2020 after the abrogation of Article 370, which revoked J&K's special status.

BSF Soldier Dies of Cardiac Arrest Along LoC in Poonch

A BSF soldier died of cardiac arrest during duty along the Line of Control in Mankote area of Poonch district on Friday. The officials said that constable R Ravindra of 72 battalion BSF suffered a heart attack at Songali post in Mankote sector. The 43-year-old was shifted to a nearby health facility where doctors declared him brought dead. SHO Mendhar Manzoor Kohli has confirmed the death.

Kashmir's Inspector General of Police, Vijay Kumar (IPS), greeted the people of Kashmir on the eve of Eid al-Adha. In a statement, greeting the people he said "this auspicious occasion would be a harbinger of peace & prosperity for all of us". The statement also states "Let's observe this festival with utmost caution & abide by the protocols of COVID-19 and offer Eid prayers at our homes". Eid al-Adha is to be celebrated in Kashmir on 1st August'20. However due to the Covid pandemic, no congregational Eid prayers will be allowed keeping in mind the health and safety of the citizens.

The Republican and Democratic leaders of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee recently introduced legislation to provide $300 million of annual military financing to Ukraine. The issue of military aid to Ukraine was at the centre of impeachment inquiry last year into US President Donald Trump. The bill was introduced by the committee’s chairman Jim Risch and ranking member Bob Menendez, along with Republicans Rob Portman and John Barrasso and Democratic committee members Chris Murphy and Jeanne Shaheen. In addition, the legislation also authorizes up to $4 million to train Ukrainian military officers. It requires a report on the Department of Defense and State Department regarding the requirements of Ukraine’s armed forces and detailed a plan to supply security assistance. ...

The vehicles are now steered clear from the traffic blocks and the traffic is flowing freely.
