2 SSB Force Personnel Killed in Fratricide incident in Kulgam

Two Force Personnel of Sema Surkhasa Bal(SSB) Jawans were killed during a fratricide incident at their place of posting at Court Complex Kulgam District. Sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a SSB man resorted to indiscriminate firing from his service rifle at his colleagues, which left two SSB men severely wounded. Superintendent of Police (SP), Gurinder Pal told KNO that two soldiers have died in the fratricide incident at Kulgam. He said that further details are being collected. Dooru Police Registers FIR Against School ‘Illegally’ Conducting Exams

Waris Shah The Iqbal memorial institute school, Dooru in Islamabad (Anantnag) illegaly conducted exams of various students on Monday morning, a police official said. He said that a case has been registered against the school for violation of Government norms for the lockdown and action will be taken against them. The official said that such illegal measures are risking lives of hundreds of students and exposing them to the threat of covid. "We want the educational institutes to abide by the norms laid down by the Government of India", the official said, adding that, strict action will be taken against any school who tries to violate the lockdown. In this particular incident FIR Number 60/2020 has been registered against the school in Police Station Dooru.

Universities to be Allowed to Conduct End of Term Exams

End-of-term exams in colleges and educational institutions pending since the month of March due to the lockdown can now be held, maintaining all safety measures, the Union Home Ministry has said on Monday. NDTV Reported, that the ministry has written to the Higher Education Secretary, permitting the long pending exams. The final term examinations are to be compulsorily conducted as per the UGC Guidelines and academic calendar for the Universities and as per the Standard Operating Procedure approved by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the letter said. So far, several states in India, including Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Haryana cancelled all higher education exams and decided to promote students on the basis of previous performances.

Mubashir Naik In a major tragedy, a man fired upon his wife in village Dhool area of District Kishtwar in the Chenab Valley on Monday afternoon. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a man, identified as Arif Hussain fired upon his wife with his 12 bore gun injuring her critically. It's is said that there was a minor scuffle between the couple which led to this incident. NDTV Reported that India has taken less than four days for India to record one lakh new COVID-19 cases, The country had crossed the six lakh-mark in COVID-19 cases on July 2. On Sunday India also edged past Russia to become the third worst-affected nation. At this point, only two countries, the United States and Brazil have reported more COVID-19 cases than India. In  India, Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state with more than two lakh cases.

22-Year-Old Woman Commits Suicide in Ramban

A 22-year-old woman was found hanging from a tree outside her house in Jammu Kashmir's Ramban district on Monday. The lady (name withheld) who is a resident of a village in Banihal area, apparently committed suicide but the motive behind the step was not known immediately. She was found hanging from a tree near her home, Her body has been sent for post-mortem, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajinder Singh said. An inquiry has been launched to ascertain the cause of her death, the officer added.
