Black Lives Matter: US Wisconsin Unrest Flares over Police Shooting a Black Man

After the shooting of a Black man, Jacob Blake Jr. by police in southeastern Kenosha Wisconsin, huge protests erupted where people defied the dawn-till-dusk curfew, leading to clashes followed by the police firing tear gas shells and rubber bullets to disperse the crowd. Ben Crump, attorney of Jacob Blake Jr., said that Blake was paralyzed and shot multiple times, and then left fighting for his life by the police. Three of his young sons who were inside the car aged 3, 5 and 8 saw how their father was killed by the police according to attorney Ben. Flash Floods Damage Agricultural Land, Crops in Kangan

Shah Basit/ Rayees Shah Heavy rains since early morning of Wednesday triggered flash floods in Nilla Najwan area of Kangan in Ganderbal district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that due to a cloudburst following by torrential rains caused flash floods in a tributary due to which agricultural fields and crops have suffered massive damage and also the link road got blocked in the said area. An official said that a flash flood triggered by heavy rains occurred in a Stream passing through the village. However there was no loss of life or property, he said. A team of Revenue department , Police and irrigation and flood control department rushed to the spot to monitor the situation.

A number of bridges and roads suffered partial to moderate damage, on Wednesday morning, after flash floods in Suktoh and Darhali rivers due to heavy rainfall in upper reaches of the district. Officials said that the water level in two rivers that cross the Rajouri town surged all of a sudden around 5:40 am. Junior Engineer of Irrigation and Flood Control Department, Hamid Ahmed said, “At around 06:40 AM, the water level in river near Salani, where both Suktoh and Darhali rivers join each other, touched flood alert level, for the first time in past several years."
