Arms and Ammunition Recovered in Boniyar, Baramullah

Shabir Khan The security forces on Monday claimed to have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Boniyar area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer, the joint team of 5 JAT and Police launched a massive CASO in Banalo forest. "During search operation, a huge quantity of arms and ammunition including two dismental AK 47, two AK Magazine, 74 AK rounds, 10 grenades, one pistol , two radio sets, Pak currency Rs 4000 and one pouch was recovered," they said. A police official said that a case in this regard has been registered and further investigation has been taken up.

6 Civilians Injured In Grenade Blast In Baramulla

Shabir Khan As many as 6 civilians have been injured in a grenade blast at Azadjung area of Baramulla town. Police officials, while confirming the incident to The Kashmiriyat said that suspected militants had lobbed a grenade on the security forces which missed the target resulting in the minor injuries of 6 civilians. The Supreme Court (SC) has held Advocate Prashant Bhushan guilty of contempt of court for tweeting against Chief Justice of India SA Bobde. He has been fined for Re 1 and if he fails to pay the fine, he can be imprisoned for 3 months or banned from practising law for three years. The SC had asked for an unconditional apology from the lawyer, but he did not submit any apology. “Freedom of speech cannot be curtailed but rights of others need to be respected,” SC said.
