Supreme Court Asks J&K SG if 4G Can Be Restored in Some Areas

Supreme Court hears the contempt plea against J&K administration over the suspension of 4G internet services. The next hearing is on August 11th. The supreme court on Friday asked the Solicitor General (SG) Tushar Mehta appearing on behalf of Jammu Kashmir government, whether it was possible to restore 4G internet services in some areas. The SG, however, sought an adjournment as a new LG had been appointed yesterday in Jammu Kashmir and the ensuing developments need to be ascertained. Army Soldier Slips to Death in Machil Kupwara

An Army soldier slips to death on Thursday, after slipping and falling into nallah along the Line of Control (LoC) in Katwar Gali in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. The army soldier has been identified as 28-year-old Amir Hussain Wani of Ananthnag, according to sources. The army lodged a written report in the police station stating the death of a soldier identified as Aamir Hussain Wani of 56 RR. The reason of death has been recorded as Aamir slipping into the Katwar Nar Nallah and being found unconscious, according to official sources. Doctors declared Aamir brought dead after he was shifted to a local camp for first aid. Sources state that the police have launched proceedings 174 Crpc. “The body has been shifted to Public Health Centre Kalaroose for postmortem.”
