Police Arrests Man for Allegedly Raping two Sisters in Anantnag

Waris Shah The Jammu Kashmir Police has arrested a person in Achbal area of southern Kashmir's Anantnag district for allegedly raping two girls at his residence in Akingam. An official told The Kashmiriyat the man from Tailwan Achabal village, Muhammad Maqbool Dar lodged a complaint at police station Achabal alleging that a fake religious man forcibly raped her two daughters. The man was identified as Mohammed Ashraf Mir son of Ghulam Ahmed Mir who is a resident of Akingam village of Anantnag district. He has mentioned in his complaint that his family used to visit the house of Mir who faked to be a healer to get amulets and blessings from him. Protests Erupt in Kulgam After Woman Gets Hit by Government Force’s Vehicle and Dies

Waris Shah A middle-aged woman, namely Mogal Banoo w/o Mohammad Ameen Dar and resident of Redwani, Kulgam was mowed down by a police bus in Quimoh area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district. Locals speaking to the The Kashmiriyat identified the woman said that the accident occured in the Kawaki Bazaar in Quimoh. "The woman was shifted to the hospital but died on the way" said sources. The BMO Qaimoh, Dr. Abdul Gani speaking to The Kashmiriyat also said that the deceased woman was declared dead on arrival. Protests have erupted on the streets after the news of the death was released and the shops have downed all shutters. People have taken to the street and also called for a complete shutdown of shops and facilities, as protest against the death.
