18.52 Lakh Domicile Certificates Issued so Far

The Jammu Kashmir administration on 22 of September had released a statement saying that 18.52 lakh domicile certificates were issued, with over 21.99 Lakh people having applied for the domicile certificates. From 20 districts of the Union territory, 21,99,513 people have applied for domicile certificates, of which 20,87,815 were found complete in all respects, while the rest were rejected for want of prescribed documents. A spokesperson from the administration confirmed that as many as 34,473 domicile certificates were issued to students, including 24,508 state subjects and 9,870 non-state subjects, and 19,479 to registered migrants and their children. Questioned for His Story, Srinagar Journalist Alleges Harassment

A Srinagar-based journalist was summoned by cyber police for his story, which was published on an online news portal a few days back. Auqib Javed, a journalist said that on 18 September at around 5 pm, he received a call from the Cyber Police Station. “The caller told me to be present at the Cyber Police Station the next day regarding a story that I had written for Article 14. The 43-year-old Jhilani building in Maharashtra’s power loom town, Bhiwandi, collapsed at around 4:30 am on Monday. The building had 40 flats and houses, which accommodated around 150 people. As many as ten people have been reportedly killed in the tragic building collapse accident in Bhiwandi. A four-year old boy was rescued by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). 3000 Litres of Illicit Kerosene Recovered By Awantipora Police

Skinder Gull The Jammu Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have recovered three thousand litres of illicit kerosene in Lethpora area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir.
