Family of Missing PhD Scholar from Kashmir Appeals IGP to Help them Trace their Son

Sajad Hameed The family of Hilal Ahmed Dar, a PhD scholar who went missing in June appealed the Inspector General of Jammu Kashmir Police to help them trace their son. Hilal went missing on June 13 during a trekking expedition to high altitude Naranag in Ganderbal district. Militants Killed in Srinagar were from South Kashmir, Says Dilbagh Singh

Covid 19- India Records Nearly 1 Lakh cases in Last 24 Hours, Death Toll Reaches 83,198

India on Thursday recorded 97,894 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, pushing the country’s tally to 51,18,253. An update by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday morning (September 17) said the number of active cases crossed the million mark and currently stands at 10,09,976. As many as 40,25,079 patients have been discharged. The number of new fatalities was 1,132 in the same period, taking the death toll to 83,198. The government has been highlighting the recoveries being registered daily. On Wednesday, a record 82,961 new COVID-19 recoveries were reported, pushing the overall figures close to 39.5 lakh. Clashes Erupt near Encounter Site in Srinagar

Firdous Qadri Clashes have erupted around the encounter site in Firdous Abad locality of Batamaloo in Srinagar district of central Kashmir. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that scores of angry youth hit the streets on Thursday morning as soon as the firing stopped at the site of encounter. The youth shouting slogans threw stones on the Forces deployed in the area, who fired tear smoke shells and pellets to disperse them. The clashes were going on when this report was being filed. 28 Rashtriya Rifles Organises Lolab Mini Marathon for Peace

Over 120 men and women from Lolab valley participated in a ‘Peace Marathon’ organised by 28 Rashtriya Rifles. The first 20 finishers, ten men and ten women, were named Peace Champions and they received prizes.
