Youth Allegedly dies of Drug Overdose in Sopore

Shabir Khan A 29-year-old youth on Sunday died due to allegedly drug overdose in north Kashmir's Sopore town. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the 29-year-old (name withheld)a resident of Yatoo Mohalla area of Nowpora Sopore who recently was discharged from rehabilitation centre was found at model town Sopore. They said that the youth died due to allegedly drug overdose, however police said investigation in this regard has set into motion. A police officer told media that police in verifying in all angles. A case in this regard has been registered and further investigation has been initiated officer added.

Man Dies Constructing the Minaret of a Masjid in Anantnag

Waris Shah A Carpenter slipped to death during the construction of a Minaret of the Masjid in Nowgam area of Verinag in south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Sunday morning. An official told The Kashmiriyat that Mohammad Yousuf Dar son of Mohammed Ambar Dar, who is a resident of Khudwani area in Kulgam fell down while working at the minaret of a mosque in Nowgam, resulting in his on spot death. The official said that the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites. The Jammu Kashmir Police has launched an investigation into the incident under section 174 CrPC.

Burglars loot the Famous Shrine of Dastgeer Sahab in Srinagar

A Muslim teenager was raped and later murdered allegedly by another community on September 2 in Palamu. The incident took place 200 km away from her hometown Hazaribagh in Jharkhand. Van Skids off in Udhampur.Three killed in the mishap

Three persons, including a 26-year-old woman and her newborn, were killed and five persons injured on Saturday when a van skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district, police said. The accident took place near Dhanas village and it is suspected that the driver lost control over the vehicle at a blind curve, a police official said. The vehicle was coming from Chenani, he said. The injured persons were rescued and hospitalised, the official said, adding that the condition of two of them has been stated as serious. The woman, Shaanu Devi, and her child died on the spot, while a 50-year-old person succumbed during treatment, he said.

Army Soldier Arrested Along with Two Kashmiri Girls at Srinagar Airport

Tourist police Saturday detained two girls from North Kashmir’s Bandipora district along with an Army soldier when they were walking in suspicion state at Srinagar Airport. Jyothi Sri Durga, a 19 year old NEET student died by suicide. And left a note to her parents which said ”I am sorry, I am tired”. Jyothisri took her life just one day before the exam, this is the third suicide case in the last one month. The NEET aspirant belonged to Madurai and lived with her family in the armed forces reserve quarters. Her father named Murugasundaram is in the fifth battalion of the armed forces.
