A police official told The Kashmiriyat that the Ganderbal police booked a shopkeeper namely Jalal-ud-din Najar, son of Mohammad Sidiq Najar, who despite being COVID-19 positive violated the SOPs and guidelines issued by the District Administration (DA) and opened his shop at Taj Complex Beeharna Ganderbal. He is a resident of Giraj Ganderbal. The said shopkeeper, who as per the guidelines had to be under home quarantine to prevent the spread of disease, failed to do so. Shah Basit / Rayees Shah Unidentified miscreants broke open the treasuries of Markazi Jamia Masjid Wayil and Ziyarat of Sheikh Jamal U Din (RA) of Sehipora area of central Kashmiri's Ganderbal district and looted the cash inside them. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that some miscreants looted cash from the donation boxes after breaking open the lock of the Masjid and shrine late night on Thursday. Meanwhile, inhabitants while expressed shock over this incident termed unfortunate and appealed police to take strong action against the burglars.

Top officials of the department said that they are working on the strategy to be followed while reopening schools in Jammu and Kashmir. An official privy to the development told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that “the department is working out on the strategies to be followed on reopening of the schools as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines issued by GoI.” The official said that the department was frequently holding meetings in this regard to chart out as to how they will reopen the schools. “With the announcement of resuming the academics, the students of 10th, 11th and 12th standard will be allowed to visit their respective schools on volunteer basis with the consent of their parents followed by the prescribed SOPs,” the official said. ...
