Thousands Protest Against Government in Bulgaria

On Wednesday, thousands of Bulgarians protested in front of the parliament in Sofia recording one of the biggest protests in the two months of demonstrations demanding the three-times Prime Minister, Boyko Borissov, to resign. Protesters threw over 100 small bombs and firecrackers at police. Whereas, the police brought a water cannon to disperse the crowd. The police also arrested around 60 people. Although protest leaders urged for a peaceful rally, protesters threw eggs, apples, and garbage at police. Protesters also shook police vehicles, and according to Sofia Police Chief Georgi Hadzhiev, nearly 100 police officers were affected by pepper spray aimed at them by protesters. Anantnag Police To Impart Online Education To School Children And Competitive Exams Aspirants

The police department in Anantnag has started a unique imitative to help students get access to online education. SSP Anantnag, Sandeep Chowdhary, recently shared the details of the programme in a media briefing. The initiative has been launched under the banner of Operation Dreams and the main purpose of this operation will be only to deliver education through online modes. SSP Anantnag said that further communication with respect to the initiative shall be made via the Twitter account of the police department and other social media website. SSP urged the youth of Anantnag to register them online for getting education during these tough times.

On Tuesday, police use lethal metal pellets to disperse off protests in Lebanon resulting in the injury of two protesters. This incident adds to the rising evidence of security forces previously using uncommon weapons that cause serious and potentially deadly injuries.  A French photographer, Floroient Zwein and an unidentified man sustained the metal pellet injuries in these protests. Richard Weir, a Beirut-based crisis and conflict researcher with Human Rights Watch, said pellets are most likely fired from shotguns, but could also be released from small explosive devices similar to a grenade. China’s Commerce Ministry Strongly Opposes India’s Ban On Chinese Mobile Apps

Indian actions violate the legal interests of Chinese investors and service providers and China asks India to correct its mistakes, commerce ministry spokesman Gao Feng recently said in a media briefing. China’s commerce ministry said that it strongly opposes India act of banning Chinese mobile apps. India has banned another 118 Chinese mobile apps including Tencent Holdings Ltd's popular video game PUBG, citing data security concerns. Meanwhile, PUBG is not strictly Chinese. It was designed by Irish game designer Brendan Greene and developed and published by PUBG Corporation, a subsidiary of the South Korean video game company Bluehole. The mobile version of the game was developed by Tencent, a Chinese multinational conglomerate.

On Tuesday, Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary-General Dr Yousef Al-Othaimeen reaffirmed the organization's support for Kashmir's right to self-determination in a meeting with Pakistan’s permanent representative to the OIC Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh. Pakistan’s mission reported that OIC Secretary-General, Othaimeen, reiterated the organizations “continuing and unstinted support on to the Kashmiri people toward realization of their inalienable right to self-determination, in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions.” According to Pakistan’s OIC mission's tweet, Ambassador Rizwan informed the secretary-general on worsening human rights violations in the Kashmir Valley.

On Wednesday, a woman was injured in a quarrel that involved her brothers in Rajouri district of Jammu region. Police officials told The Kashmiriyat that, a woman in Keri Barehvi village of Rajouri's Dharamsal area received gunshot splinter injuries due to a 12 Bore rifle following which she was taken to Kalakote hospital where she is undergoing treatment. “It has come to the fore that two real brothers were fighting over some intra-family issue after which one of the brothers used his 12 Bore rifle and fired and pellets of 12 Bore rifle hit his sister identified as Anju Devi, resident of Bari Brahmana Jammu,” said officials.
