In view of the action taken by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) on peaceful protestors, the Sikh activists of Kashmir have issued a warning that the committee will face protests by Kashmiri Sikh youth, groups, and activists. The Sikh outfits, including the Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee, have been protesting since September 14, seeking justice in the missing saroops incident for which SGPC staffers were held guilty by a probe committee. Jammu Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has said that Militants preferring to surrender during encounters with state forces is a welcome development. He also appealed the youngsters, to  return to the mainstream and leave the path of violence. Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief, Ghulam Ahmad Mir said there was a need to come up with a common platform to fight against the repealing of land law in the union territory. Mir said that people across Jammu Kashmir are anguished over the decision taken by the government three days ago. A Few Days after the Modi-led Government opened land of Jammu Kashmir for sale to outsiders, the administration has transferred 2.4 lakh kanals of land to the Industries and Commerce Department for investment purposes while almost an equal Kanals of land will be notified shortly following clearance from the Forest Department, at least 65 big houses are constantly in touch with the Government to set up their units, Daily excelsior reported.
