India-China Talk in Progress, Says Jaishankar

External Affairs Minister S.Jaishankar on Thursday said that India-China relationship in the last three decades was predicated on the maintenance of peace and tranquillity along the Line of Actual Control and that disturbing the “very foundation” of the ties is going to have consequences. In an interactive session at the Bloomberg India Economic Forum, the external affairs minister also said the problem was not created by India, noting both sides are engaged in talks to resolve the over five-month-long military standoff in eastern Ladakh. One Militant Killed in Budgam Encounter

Sajad Hameed One Militant has been killed in the ongoing encounter broke out between militants and Government forces in Nagam area of Chadoora belt in Central Kashmir's Budgam district. Earlier, An official told The Kashmiriyat that a joint team of Indian Army's 53 RR, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police on Friday morning launched a cordon and search operation on a tip-off about the movement of militants in this Shopian area. He said that as the joint teams of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter. During the exchange of gunfire, one Militant has been killed, who is yet to be identified. The Government Forces are still conducting searches at the site of the encounter, Sources told The Kashmiriyat.

Former militant shot at in Pulwama by ‘Unidentified Gunmen’

Unknown gunmen on Thursday evening shot at a former militant in Kakapora area of South Kashmir's Pulwama district. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that an ex-militant identified as Tanveer Ahmad Sofi (30), son of Ghulam Muhammad Sofi of Sofi Mohalla Kakapora was shot at near J&K Bank Kakapora. He added that Tanveer received bullet injuries and was shifted to hospital for treatment where his condition is said to be critical. He added that he was affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and later surrendered. He was later engaged in Sericulture department, officials said, adding that the forces reached the spot and cordoned off the area to nab the attackers—(KNO)

7 Kilogram Brown Sugar Recovered From Abandoned House in Kupwara

Joint Forces in presence of Executive Magistrate recovered 7 kilogram Brown Sugar from an abandoned house in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district. A police official told news agency KNT that Joint Forces including 2 Jatt and Police in presence of Executive Magistrate conducted search in an abandoned and non-residential house at Jabdi area of Karnah. During the search operation Joint Forces recovered 7 kilogram Brown Sugar from the house. The abandoned house belonged to one Mushtaq Ahmed Lone son of Abdul Rehman, resident of Suliman Karnah. The official said that a case vide FIR number 79/2020 under section 8/21 NDPS Act was registered in this regard. (KNT)
