Woman Killed in Hit-And-Run Accident in Anantnag

A 68-year-old woman was killed in a road accident in Brariangan area of Achabal in South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Wednesday morning. A police official said that Saja Begum, wife of Muhammad Akram Bhat from Brariangan was critically injured after the motorcyclist hit her in the village. She was rushed to SKIMS Soura where the doctors declared her brought dead, the official said, adding that the motorcyclist fled from the spot after the incident. “A case has been registered under FIR number 78/2020 under relevant sections of law and further investigations taken up to crack the case,” he said—(KNO)

The Central Government has issued another notification giving effect to 11 central laws in Jammu Kashmir with immediate effect. On Tuesday afternoon, a 6th class student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself to death at his house in Dano Kandi Marag village of South Kashmir's Kulgam district. A police official told the news agency —Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a 14-year-old boy (name withheld) of Dano Kandi Marag ended his life by hanging self at his home this afternoon.
