Mubashir Naik Jammu Kashmir Police booked a man for taking money in the name of Police. As per official spokesman, a written application was received in Police Station Kishtwar wherein a person namely Ghulam Nabi, son of Mohammad Israhil, a resident of Banghran Saroor alleged that some days ago, he received a phone call from a person namely Sajjad Husain, son of Irshad Ahmed of Tatani Saroor. After that his father has been summoned by police and further told that your father will be kept in custody by Kishtwar Police and demanded to transfer an amount of Rs 30,000 in his account on the pretext of his release while taking undue favours. Soldier commits suicide in Ganderbal

Rayees Shah/ Shah Basit A soldier committed suicide as he shot himself with his service riffle inside his camp in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. A Official told The Kashmiriyat that Jagmeet Singh of Haryana on Tuesday morning who was posted with 24 RR in Chetargul camp in Ganderbal shot himself with his service rifle. 255 cases Registered Under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in Jammu Kashmir in 2019

As many as 255 cases were registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act-1967 in Jammu Kashmir during 2019. These details have been laid bare in the report- Crime in India-2019- released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) last week. According to the report, a copy of which lies with a local news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), J K has the third highest number of cases registered under the UAPA after Manipur and Tamil Nadu where respectively 306 and 270 FIRs were lodged under the law. A 26-year old local leader of Communist Party of India (Marxist) P.U. Sanoop was hacked to death in Kerala’s Thrissur on Sunday night by a group of right-wing activists, belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bajrang Dal. On Sunday night around 11:30 pm Sanoop was attacked along with three other CPI(M) workers, Jithu, Vipin and  Abhijit, who were critically injured in the attack, and rushed to the hospital.
