Four Years in Detention, Sarjan Barkati’s Family Demands his Immediate Release

Mir Musavir The family of incarcerated Sarjan Barkati on Tuesday demanded the release of Sarjan Barkati who is under detention since October 01, 2016. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the wife of Barkati demanded his release adding that Barkati has spent four years under incarcenation and the family is having a tough time since then. Barkari was shifted to Police Station in Hurpora area of Shopian from District Jail of Anantnag after as many as ninety people were tested positive for novel coronavirus. Barkati, who grew famous due to passionate speeches and pro Freedom Taranas became the face of 2016 civilian uprising post the killing of Burhan wani on 08 July, 2016. Examinations of Class 10,12th to Be Held Between Nov 15- Dec 20, Says JKBOSE

The administration in Jammu Kashmir has finally decided to conduct the board examination of students of class 10th and 12th in the month of November. Jammu and Kashmir board of school education (JKBOSE) has said that the datesheet for 10 and 12th class students will be out in 8-10 days. “The examinations of both the classes will be held from November 15 and will conclude till December 20 this year,” she said “We will not considered marks above 70 percent. 70 percent will be considered as 100 percent," the chairperson of the JKBOSE said. She said that al the covid 19 SOPs will be followed to reduce the chances of infections.

Update- 2 CRPF Men Succumb, Three Others Injured

Skinder Gull Two CRPF men were killed and three others injured after militants attacked a joint security forces’ party at Kandzal area of Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. An official said that five CRPF men sustained injuries in the militant attack, who were shifted to hospital for treatment. CRPF spokesman for operations (Kashmir) Junaid Khan told that among the injured two CPRF personnel succumbed. Soon after the attack, officials said that traffic was been halted in the area and a massive search operation has been launched by the army’s 50 RR and joints teams of police and army to nab the attackers.

High Speed Internet to be restored in More Districts of Jammu Kashmir by October 15, Report

The Central Government in New Delhi is likely to permit high speed internet in more districts of Jammu Kashmir by October 15. Names of the districts are, however, to be chosen by the state administration and Jammu Kashmir Police, said a report published in Economic Times. Earlier 4G services were restored in two districts --Ganderbal and Udhampur, on trial basis by the State administration, in August this year, more than a year after they were suspended. The report quoted officials as saying that restoration of high speed internet services will be done in a calibrated manner with strict monitoring and periodical review by security agencies. Mobile Internet Services had been suspended in the Jammu Kashmir in August last year after the Government abrogated the special status.
