1266 Tractors in Kupwara not Given Registration Numbers

The Tractor Union Dealers, Kupwara on Sunday said that the authorities have left them in trauma as around 1266 tractors in the district are not getting registration numbers due to unknown reasons. Talking to a local news agency, Kashmir News Service, President of the Union Fayaz Ahmad told on 1st Aug 2019 Motor Vehicle Department issued an order in which they asked to pay a 9 percent registration fee and tractors were made commercial vehicles. He also said that when they are visiting the concerned ARTO for registration, they are demanding Agricultural certificates which we don't have. Dozens of far-flung and remote villages, including those near the Line ofControl (LoC), remained cut off for the second successive day on Sunday in north Kashmir due to slippery roads conditions and accumulation of snow. “Traffic remained suspended to dozens of far-flung and remote villages, including Keran, Machil, Kernah and Tanghdar, due to slippery road conditions and acumination of one to three feet of snow,” an official of Police Control Room (PCR), Kupwara said.
