Mir Irfan Two Militants have been killed during the encounter that started early morning on Tuesday between militants and Government forces in Kutpora area of Shopian in South Kashmir. An official confirming the exchange of gunfire to The Kashmiriyat said that 34 Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and 178 BN of CRPF had jointly laid a siege in Kutpora area of Shopian. He said that the cordon was laid after the forces had received a tip-off about Militant movements in the area. As soon as the forces launched the searches, the Militants opened fire on them to which the forces responded. At least 97 per cent of schools across Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh are functioning with co-education system while only 2.42 per cent schools are running as per gender-segregation.
