All Beneficiaries of the Roshni Act are not Illegal Occupants or Encroachers

The Group of Concerned Citizens (GCC), a civil society group, on Monday said that different views have been expressed regarding the High Court judgment over Roshi Act and said all the beneficiaries under the said act were labeled as encroachers which is not a fact .In a statement issued to the press, the GCC said, under the Roshni Act those of the occupants who were holding leases of the Nazool land for residential purposes under the J&K Land Grants Act,1960 were also made eligible to seek conversion of their leasehold rights into freehold. Mother of ex-MLA of National Conference for Shangus, Abdul Majeed Mir's 80-year-old mother, Zainab Begum passed away on Sunday night. She was suffering from ill health for a brief period after which she passed away on the night of November 1. Many socio-political groups and personalities expressed grief on the demise and expressed condolences to the bereaved family. She was laid to rest after her last rites were performed at her native in Mir Mohalla area of Achabal in Anantnag district of South Kashmir. On Sunday, the Hindu Sena workers allegedly defaced a signboard outside the India Islamic Cultural Centre (IICC) at Lodhi Road. The posters had “Jihadi Islamic Terrorist Centre” printed on the poster. Photos of the incident went viral. However, the police said the posters were soon removed and an FIR has also been registered.  As per the reports, Vishnu Gupta, the group’s president said he was angry at the Muslim community for their “terrorist activities” in France and India. DSEK Asks Private Coaching Centres to Apply For Fresh Registration

The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has issued a notification regarding the registration of all private coaching centres that expired on October 31. The department has already advised the parents not to enrol students in any un-registered coaching or tuition centre. “In order to follow up the registration process of private coaching/tuition centres for 2020-21 either for renewal of their registration or getting fresh registration, all the criteria should be adopted for the registration process,” reads a notification by the DSEK. The coaching centres will have to fulfil different criteria to become eligible for the registration. On Saturday, the Special Branch of CID in Rajasthan arrested Ram Niwas Gaura (28), a civil defence employee at Military Engineering Services (MES) for working as a spy for Pakistan's intelligence agency. He has been accused of working for the ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) for some time.
