The United Arab Emirates has stopped issuing new visas to citizens of 13 mostly Muslim-majority countries, including Iran, Syria, Afghanistan and Pakistan, according to a document issued by a state-owned business park. A source briefed on the matter told Reuters the visas had temporarily stopped being issued to Afghans, Pakistanis and citizens of several other countries over security concerns, but did not provide details of those concerns. 11 Candidates Withdraw Nominations for Phase-4 of DDC Elections in Verinag and Dooru Blocks

According to the District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) Anantnag, 11 candidates have withdrawn their nominations for phase-IV of upcoming District Development Council (DDC), Panchayat and ULB by-elections for Verinag and Shahabad blocks besides, Municipal Committee Dooru Verinag on the last date (23 November 2020) for withdrawal of candidature. These 11 withdrawals include 2 for DDC seats, 3 for Sarpanch, 4 for Panch, and 2 for ULB vacancies. Thus a total of 129 candidates are in the fray for the polls scheduled to be held on 07 December 2020 wherever it is necessary.
