MBBS Students Protest Against GMC Admin For not Holding Clinical Classes

As many as 250 MBBS students on Friday morning staged a protest in the premises of SKIMS Medical College Srinagar against the administration for not taking concrete steps to commence the clinical classes and forcing students to face hardships. The students from 10:00 am assembled within the premises of SKIMS Srinagar to register their protest and press for their demands. The protesting MBBS students told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that for the past over six months not a single clinical class was held nor the administration has vacated the designated covid staff from hostels. Militant Critically Wounded in Anantnag Gunfight Succumbs in Hospital

Salman Shah The Militant who was critically wounded during a gunfight with Government Forces in Gund Baba area of Sangam in South Kashmir's Anantnag district has succumbed to his injuries. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Zaheer Abas Lone, a resident of Inder area in Pulwama who was admitted in Shri Mahraja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital in Srinagar succumbed to his injuries. Zaheer, an affiliate of Hizb ul Mujahideen had recently joined the outfit and his audios were also circulated on social media. Pertinently an encounter raged in Anantnag on Thursday between Militants and Government forces at Gund Baba Khaleel, Anantnag during which te Forces arrested one local HM Militant Zaheer Abbas Lone. Zaheer was taken to the hospital by Police in a wounded condition.

Mubashir Naik A Government employee was arrested and a pistol and ammunition was seized from him in Rajouri district on Thursday. Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajouri, Chandan Kohli said that one Jasvinder Singh’s car met with an accident at Chatta Siot but when a police team reached there to help but the concerned started running. However, Singh was detained by police after a chase and a pistol and six bullets of 7.65 mm calibre were seized from him. Singh, who works at the Jammu Kashmir Animal husbandry department, is from Nonial Nowshera and he has been arrested, police said. A case under relevant sections of the law for carrying an illegal weapon has been registered with further investigation into the matter going on.

Cold wave continued to sweep parts of J&K and Ladakh on Friday with Jammu recording season's coldest night at 2.8°C and the Drass town remaining frozen at minus 28.5°C. A division bench of the Jammu Kashmir high court comprising on Wednesday postponed the hearing of review petitions in the multi-crore Roshni land scam to December 22. As per a report on Hindustan times, the Advocate general of J&K DC Raina assisted by additional advocate general Aseem Sawhney submitted that about 21 review petitions have been filed so far but the registry has listed only 11 of them including the one by the administration. Senior advocates ZA Shah, Jehangir Ganai, Sunil Sethi, Gagan Basotra, Rohit Kohli senior advocate and a battery of lawyers appeared for the review petitioners.
