Two person got killed and19 Injured in a human-wildlife conflict in Ganderbal during the year 2021
The Wildlife department captured 140 wild animals in human habitat.
According to the wildlife department report, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) two persons were killed during Human-wildlife conflict in Ganderbal District.
In the report wildlife department also mentioned that they did around 186 activities to capture wild animals which were roaming in human habitat and were able to capture 140 which were later rehabilitated at their natural habitat.
The report also mentioned that 19 civilians among some paramilitary forces were injured by wild bear during this year.
The kin of one of the deceased who died in the bear attack was given relief of Rs 3 lakh while the kin of second victim who was also killed in bear attack haven’t received any relief by the department so far, the report said.
Among the captured wild animals include Black bear, Bear cub, Leopard, Monkey, Snake, Rabbit, Wolf, Porcupine, Wiper Wild Cat and other wild animals.
Ranger Wildlife department Ferooz Nazir told KNO that they have been proven actively vigilant of any presence of wild animals in human habitat.
“We took swift actions to rescue wild animals and keep the human population out of danger,” Nazir said—(KNO)
