Police Recovers Banned Animal Skin in Shirpora Anantnag

ISLAMABAD
The Jammu Kashmir Police along with wildlife officials in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) township on Saturday morning raided a house in the Sherpora area of the township and recovered banned skins of animals. An official told The Kashmiriyat that animal skins of Lions, Leopards, and Bear were recovered from an individual (name undisclosed) who was also taken under detention. Providing details of the incident, the official said that the Anantnag Police headed by SHO Saddar Anantnag raided a house in Shirpora area in the wee hours of Saturday and recovered banned animal skins from a house and took the owner of the house under detention. The Police have registered a case in this regard and started further investigation into the incident.

Order Issued to Courts to Observe Silence on 30 January in Honour of People who Gave Lives for Indian Freedom Struggle

The Jammu Kashmir high court on Friday issued an order asking all courts in the erstwhile state to observe two minutes of silence on 30 January in memorial of those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom struggle of India. In an official notice, accessed by The Kashmiriyat via order number 795 on 29th of January 2021, the high court in the order asked high courts and all subordinate courts to observe a 2-minute silence at 11 AM as a memoir.
