Four Injured in a Bus Accident in Ganderbal

SHAH BASIT At least four persons were injured in a road accident at the Ganiwan area of Ganderbal District on the Srinagar-Leh highway on Sunday Morning. Reports said that a passenger bus bearing registration number JK01D 5574 traveling from Gund to Kangan skid from the road near Ganiwan resulting in injuries to Four passengers traveling in the bus. An official confirming the incident to The Kashmiriyat said that the injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The official further said that a case has been registered under relevant sections of law in this regard

Scores of aspirants, who were scheduled to appear in the examination for the recruitment of Banking Associate in J&K Bank alleged that they were not allowed to enter the examination hall. The aspirants said that due to the fresh snowfall, they couldn't reach the examination hall on time. "We were earlier told that the examination will begin at sharp 10:00 AM, but yesterday evening, it was informed that the examination will start at 09:00 AM in the morning," Yasir Altaf, one among the aspirants from Mattan Anantnag said. Israel has carried out a total of 39 attacks on Syrian military sites in 2020, according to a UK-based war monitor. The strikes killed 217 Syrian soldiers and pro-Iran fighters, Xinhua news agency quoted the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights as saying in a report on Saturday. The latest Israeli attack took place on Wednesday when Israeli missiles targeted a military base in the Zabadani suburb west of Damascus, resulting in the death of one soldier, while three others were injured. The observatory said the targeted attack was aimed at pro-Iran weapon depots.

Moderate to heavy snowfall started on Sunday in Kashmir and Ladakh while rains lashed the Jammu division, Weather office has forecast widespread snowfall in many areas of the valley on Sunday and Monday with heavy snowfall at isolated places. Traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu highway has been halted because of snow accumulation in the Jawahar Tunnel sector of the highway. As the night sky remained overcast, minimum temperatures improved throughout J&K and Ladakh, Srinagar had minus 1.5, Pahalgam also had minus 1.5 while Gulmarg had minus 5.0 as the minimum temperature. To promote Kashmiri language, a youth from Central Kashmir's Ganderbal district has so far written dozens of folk tales and poems. Asif Tariq Bhat, a resident of Duderhama Ganderbal who is pursuing Honours in Kashmir literature from Amar Singh College, has so far received dozens of appreciation awards for his writing skills. Jammu Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday said that the administration plans to attract investments worth up to $4 billion in the next two-three years. He said that the administration was identifying 6,000 acres (2,400 hectares) of land for businesses and that they would make companies feel secure, adding, "The administration was also working on organising an investors summit after a delay due to the coronavirus pandemic." “We have an annual budget of 1 trillion rupees ($13.68 billion) for the region and a good amount of that is being used for providing security for businesses,” Sinha said to a group of journalists in New Delhi. “We are in touch with all major business houses,” he said.
