Active TRF Militant Arrested in Samba

Mubashir Naik The Jammu Kashmir Police claimed to have arrested a Militant who is an affiliate of The Resistance Front (TRF) in the Samba district of Jammu. A police official told The Kashmiriyat that a team of Jammu Kashmir Police from Anantnag laid a special Nakka following a specific input in the Samba area and arrested TRF militant. The Militant has been identified as Zahoor Ahmed Rather alias Khalid Sahil. Police Officials said that Zahoor is accused in various cases including the killing of three BJP workers in Kulgam last year and one policeman at Furrah area in Kulgam.

Woman, Her son Found Dead Under Mysterious Condition in Kokernag

Waris Shah  One woman and her son died under mysterious circumstances in the Soaf Shali area of Kokernag in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a woman identified as Ishrat aged 23, wife of Shabir Ahmed Najar and her son Musaib were found unconscious inside their house. The mother- son duo were shifted to the Sub District Hospital in Kokernag for treatment. However upon their arrival at the Sub District hospital, the duo were declared brought dead up arrival. The cause of death, as per initial reports, seems to be suffocation.

Several residential houses in villages along Line of Control in Tanghdar sector have developed cracks in the aftermath earthquake, a top police official said. Senior Superintendent of Police Shriram Ambarkar Dinkar told GNS that his office has received reports about several residential houses in the villages including Hajinar, Prada, Taad, Kandi to have developed cracks in the fallout of earthquake. “We are ascertaining the damaged caused by the earthquake in other parts of the district as well and details will be shared accordingly”, the top-police official said. DCs Asked to Submit Details of Employees Aged 48, Complete 22 years of Service

The administration of Jammu Kashmir asked the Deputy commissioner of 10 Districts of the Kashmir valley to forward the details of the employees who have completed 22 years of service or attained the age of 48 years of age. The Office of the Private Secretary Divisional Commissioner Kashmir today issued an order to Deputy Commissioners of 10 districts of Kashmir division asking them to forward the details of the employees who have attained 48 yrs of age or more and completed 22 yrs of service as ending in December 2021. The matter was referred to as Urgent in the order, The order number Div/com/ PS? MISC/2020/ 3126 did not specify the purpose of such information.

Schools to Reopen from March 01 in Kashmir

The authorities on Friday said that all the government and private schools in Kashmir valley will reopen on March 1 after 8 months after the outbreak of COVID-19. Director School Education Kashmir, (DESK), Mohammed Younis Malik, said that there is no confusion as they have already issued the order that all schools will be reopened on March 1st after a gap of eight months. Pertinently, the winter vacation in Kashmir schools was announced on December 10 and the schools are now set to open on March 1. The director school of education said that before reopening of the schools there will be sanitization and cleaning of schools 5 days before. “We have issued the guidelines to the school heads to ensure proper cleaning and sanitation of classrooms,” he added. Kashmir’s 83% Healthcare Workers opt out of Covid-19 Vaccine: DAK

The Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Friday said most of the doctors, nurses and paramedical staff in Kashmir are opting out of Covid-19 vaccine. The Government of Friday said that out of 5,922 people arrested under the UAPA law from 2016 to 2019, only 132 were found guilty putting the conviction rate at 2.2 percent. Union Minister of State for Home G. Kishan Reddy shared the information in Rajya Sabha in response to a question. He informed the Upper House that as per the 2019 Crime in India Report compiled by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), the total number of persons arrested under the Act in 2019 is 1,948. In another reply, he said that 96 people were arrested on charges of treason (sedition in the legal language) under Section 194A IPC in 2019 but only two were convicted and 29 persons were acquitted. Dead Body of Missing Kashmiri Engineer After Uttarakhand Glacier Burst Found

Six days after he went missing, the dead body of a Kashmiri engineer, who went missing during a glacier burst in Uttarakhand was found on Friday. A resident of the Soura area in Srinagar, Basharat Ahmad Zargar was working as an engineer on Rishi Ganga power project (130 Mw) in the Uttarakhand state. According to news a report by Kashmir observe, Shabir Ahmad, his brother broke the sad news of his brother’s death Friday afternoon. “My brother’s body was found by NDRF near the power project at 2.30 PM Friday, he said. Pertinently the body of Basharat was found on the sixth day of rescue operations after flash floods in Uttarakhand.
