Mehbooba Mufti, the former Chief Minister of Jammu Kashmir tweeted,  "After losing his son in an alleged fake encounter, Athar Mushtaq’s father has been slapped with an FIR for demanding his dead body. CRPF Officer Dies of Burn Injuries in Srinagar

A CRPF officer died after receiving burn injuries due to electric shock here in Kashmir capital Srinagar. Sources told that Assistant Sub Inspector from D/54 Battalion Dilbeer Singh was found dead at SKICC Srinagar. The officer as per sources was electrocuted while his service rifle was also found damaged in his picket at Morcha Number 5 at SKICC where he was posted. The deceased is a resident of Pathankot Punjab. Police sources while confirming his death said that a case has been registered in this regard. They said prima facie it seems the officer received electric shock after a short circuit. (KNT)

At least 50 people are feared dead or washed away as a massive glacier receded in Reni village of Uttarakhand's Chamoli district on Sunday, leaving a trail of destruction in the area. Reports received here said that the Rishiganga Power Project has been completely damaged as the water level in the Alaknanda river rose several feet due to flash floods caused by the breaking of the glacier. Uttarakhand Director General of Police Ashok Kumar said that over 50 people who were working at the Rishiganga power project are feared to have been washed away or dead. "People who have been caught in the silt are being rescued. Teams of police and SDRF have reached the spot. The water has reached Karanprayag. A Mathura court on Saturday issued notices to the Shahi Idgah Masjid management committee and others, seeking their stands on a fresh plea for the removal of the 17th-century mosque from near the alleged birthplace of Hindu God, Shri Krishna in the Katra Keshav Dev temple complex here. Additional District and Sessions Judge Dev Kant Shukla issued notices after admitting the plea, ruling that the suit is “maintainable and hence admissible” for detailed hearing, District Government Counsel (Civil) Sanjai Gaur said. The Jammu Kashmir Police on Sunday registered a criminal case against two brothers for allegedly running fraudulent finance companies here to dupe investors, an official said. The case against Vikas Mahajan and Lokesh Mahajan of Gurha Bakshi Nagar was registered under relevant sections of the law on a written complaint lodged by Paloura resident D K Gupta through the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), a spokesperson of the Crime Branch, Jammu, said.
