Unidentified Body of a Male Found in Sangam Area of Anantnag

SOUTH KASHMIR
Suhail Dar   An unidentified dead body was found in South Kashmir's Sangam area of Anantnag district on Wednesday evening. The locals told The Kashmiriyat that they spotted the body lying in and immediately informed police about it. Soon after being informed, a police team reached the spot and recovered the body The body of the unidentified male was later taken to District hospital of Anantnag district.

19 Percent Increase in Passenger Fares in Jammu Kashmir

A meeting between the Jammu Kashmir administration and transporters in the civic secretariat demanding a hike in passenger fares was successful today. The meeting was held at 12 noon on Wednesday under the supervision of Financial Commissioner Arun Kumar Mehta. During a two-hour meeting with the officials of the All JK Transport Welfare Association, the Jammu Kashmir administration agreed to increase the fares by only 10 per cent. Leopard Cub Caught by Wildlife Employees in Dooru Village

Sheikh Nadeem A leopard cub was caught by the Wildlife employees in the Arampora village of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a leopard cub that was roaming in the area was spotted by locals in Arampora area of Dooru on Wednesday afternoon. The Locals immediately informed the Wildlife Department after which a team of Wildlife casual laborers reached the spot and caught the leopard cub. A wildlife official meanwhile told The Kashmiriyat that the department has asked its men to remain alert as there was the possibility of the leopardess, mother of the cubs, searching for them.

Irshad Hussain A small portion of a road in the Dalgate area of Srinagar collapsed suddenly created fear among the commuters on Wednesday, affecting traffic and public movement. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the locals said that as the road caved in, a two-wheeler fell in the dal lake which was already parked there. Some Shikaras have also been damaged in the incident. Due to lack of staff and lack of infrastructure at Anantnag/Government Degree College, Dooru, Anantnag, the educational future of students studying in these schools has been put under question. The college has been established in 2005 under the congress and people's Democratic Party coalition rule. As per the official data, 1300 boys and girls are currently pursuing their studies at this college. Six teachers were transferred two months back but the new teachers have not been deployed in their place as of yet. Cabinet approves President’s Rule in Puducherry

On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet approved a proposal to impose President’s Rule in Puducherry, days after a Congress-led government in the union territory lost power during a vote of confidence. Announcing the Cabinet decision, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar told reporters that the decision was taken as no party claimed to form a government in Puducherry following the resignation of the chief minister there. Nine People Dead As Boat Capsizes in Egypt

According to a report by Associated Press, ambulance officials on Tuesday, said that there are searches going on by rescue workers for at least five people who went missing in a shipwreck lake near Egypt’s Mediterranean city of Alexandria. Till now nine people, including three children, were dead, they added. On late Monday, the boat capsized in the lake of Maruit while returning from an entertaining voyage. The boat was carrying at more than 58 people. The officials said that five people were rescued and were taken to hospitals.
